What is Buteyko Breathing Method
How Did It Start?
In the late 1940’s early 50’s Konstantine Buteyko developed what is now know as the Buteyko Method. Dr Buteyko realised from watching dozens of his patients with respiratory problems that their symptoms and other problems developed as their breathing rate increased. He also discovered that by reducing and normalising their breathing rates patients began to recover.
Thousands of people with asthma sleep apnea snoring and dozens of other breathing disorders have since been able to reduce and eliminate these life changing problems using the Buteyko Method.
Buteyko himself had corrected his own health issues by being astute enough to realize that it wasnt the ilness making him breath faster and high in his chest,but the breathing mechanism and hyperventilation itself was causing the symtoms and associated conditionds.
These observations allowed him to develop his breathing techniques that today carry his name and help millions of people across the globe.
